Pinkie Dent Mayfield

Pinkie Dent Mayfield is the Chief Communications Officer and Vice President-Corporate Affairs at Graham Holdings Company. Mayfield joined Graham Holdings (then The Washington Post Company) in 1998 and has held several leadership positions as part of the executive team. Prior to joining the Company, she was a Vice President and Trust Officer at NationsBank (now Bank of America) in the Investment Services Division. She began her career at Prudential Securities.

With a strong commitment to advancing women and children through education, Mayfield serves as treasurer of the board of directors of the District of Columbia College Access Program (DC-CAP). Previously, she chaired the boards of Leadership Greater Washington (Class of 2001) and the Washington Area Women’s Foundation. She has served on a number boards to include her alma mater, Trinity Washington University, where she received an Honorary Doctor of Laws (2016). She was also honored with the Washington Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Award (2013).

Mayfield graduated magna cum laude with a BA in business administration from Trinity Washington University, and earned an MBA from the University of Maryland University College. She and her husband, Carl Mayfield, reside in Washington, DC with their two children.
