Richard Bynum
Richard K. Bynum is a retired C-suite banking executive, advisor, and board member with more than 30 years of experience leading growth, transformation, and enterprise governance in financial services. He spent more than two decades at PNC Financial Services Group, most recently serving as Executive Vice President, the bank’s first Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer, and a member of its Executive Committee. He also oversaw governance and accountability for PNC’s four-year, $88 billion Community Benefits Plan.
Earlier at PNC, Richard served as President of Greater Washington and Virginia and Head of Small Business Banking, leading P&L growth and the turnaround of a multibillion-dollar banking business. Before joining PNC, he spent 12 years with the American Red Cross, including leadership roles in national disaster response.
Richard brings public-company and nonprofit governance experience spanning audit and finance oversight, institutional stewardship, and civic leadership. His prior service includes chairing the Greater Washington Community Foundation and serving on the Audit Committee of Empowerment & Inclusion Capital I Corporation—a NYSE-listed SPAC.
Richard holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a BS from Florida State University.
